Mr. Shapiro began his career as a data communication expert. He later specialized in helping companies transition from old technologies to new technologies. This expertice was applied to transition from IBM Mainframes to DEC VAX systems, from Mini Computers to PC Servers, from proprietary systems to Unix and now from text based system to voice.
He has extensive expertice in software development, system architecture, VOICEXML, TTS, and speech recognition technologies, and a range of computer languages (Fortran, PLI, Pascal, Cobol, C, Java, PHP, Perl) and databases (Oracle, MySQL, RDB, Ingres, DB2).
Mr. Shapiro has managed software development efforts ranging from a couple people to over one hundred staff members.
