Alan H. Lockwood, M.D., is board certified in Neurology and a member of the American Neurological Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. He is the author of approximately 220 publications on diverse scientific topics ranging from hepatic encephalopathy, to environmental toxicants. He has been an active member of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) for over two decades and was President of PSR National in 1994. He was Chairman of the PSR Environment and Health Committee for six years and is a member of the Board of Sponsors. His environment and health interests focus on environmental toxicants and the production of neurological disease, the human testing of pesticides, and the relationship between burning coal and public health. He is a principle author of the new PSR report "Coal's Assault on Human Health," a study that utilizes a medical model to examine the impacts of coal on the human body.
